Your teen's safety is at stake. We provide hours of comprehensive classroom and behind the wheel training that ensures your child knows what they're doing on the road.

Here is the news you’ve been waiting for!

It’s time to let everyone know when and how the scheduling for behind the wheel lessons will take place.

We will begin accepting requests for behind the wheel lessons on May 20, 2020 at 12:01 am. When you send your request for a lesson, please indicate your preference for a starting time before, or after 12:00 pm. As in the past, we will be giving lessons 7 days a week from early morning until late afternoon. We will not be starting the lessons until Thursday, May 28th.

In the interest of being fair to all our students and families that are dealing with this virus we must ask that everyone understand and follow these scheduling guidelines:

If our student has just recently completed the classroom hours, please do not try to “rush” the driving portion. We will have a great deal of students that attended the class several months ago and were unable to start their lessons due to the “stay at home” order. Let’s be kind to our fellow humans and try to understand that not everyone can get their lessons at the same time.

We will only schedule one lesson at a time and insist that there be at least 7 – 10 days between lessons. I know that this will cause delays in our students getting their license by their birthdays, etc., and it will be a great disappointment for them, but again…we are trying to be fair to all.

We have worked hard to develop a scheduling pattern that will limit the number of students and parents that are in our building at the same time. We believe we have this worked out so that there will be about 10 minutes of evaluation time at the end of each lesson for our teacher to go over the lesson with student and parent. It is especially important that you are on time dropping off and picking up our student. We can make this work if we all stay on time.

It should go without saying, but it must be said: if your teen is not feeling well, please stay home!

Upon arriving for the lesson, we will ask a few screening questions, then upon giving the correct answers, we will ask the student to go to the washroom and wash their hands. Their teacher will do the same thing. Several weeks ago, we ordered “no-touch” thermometers but they have not even been shipped. If the thermometers arrive, we will take the temperature of the student. Both the student and the teacher must wear a cloth face covering that will cover their nose and mouth. Once all the pre-drive questions have been completed, student and teacher will go to the vehicle and both will use sanitizing wipes on all touch surfaces of the car! The teacher will make sure the students is wiping all the touch surfaces prior to touching them. I know this may sound a bit overboard, but I must do everything I can to keep our students and teachers safe in the very close driving environment!

I ask that everyone please be patient during this process of completing your behind the wheel lessons. When we restart the lessons, we will have an eight-week backlog to try work our way through. We will do everything we can to get caught up in a timely fashion!

Why Drive 4 Life Academy
What Students Learn
Driver Resources

Dear Greg,

I would like to thank you for the excellent driver training that you have provided for my son, Alex. I believe the skill that you have taught him will last a lifetime.

Alex took your course shortly before his 16th birthday. He already had months of permit driving under his belt and felt that he would be able to pass the License Test without incident. However, after the 1st session at Drive 4 Life Academy he realized just how much he did not know about driving and Tennessee Motor Vehicle Laws.

His enthusiasm throughout the weeks of your course did not wane. I was very pleased to hear him repeat rules of the road, he learned from you, while he drove. After each class he would share the new things he learned by correcting some of my driving habits. I am thrilled we now have a driving school in Knoxville where young drivers can go and learn without being bored or intimidated.

His confidence level has been raised with the knowledge that you have provided him. I imagine he will remember your course throughout his driving life and will maintain the high standards you set for him.

Once again, thank you for your commitment to teaching young drivers in Knoxville.

J. Neil

I used to be a ‘teach yourself’ kind of guy but through experience have found great benefit in professional training, be that one hour, one lesson, or many hours and lessons. There is usually one key take-away from every class I’ve attended. In motorcycle rider education it was the position of my wrist on the throttle. In your class, it was how to adjust the mirrors to eliminate the blind-spot. I’ve passed that one on to many of my friends and they too are amazed. I feel much more confident that my son has the tools to be a safe driver as a result of your training program and would highly recommend it to new and experienced drivers as well.

Hi Mr. Greg, Mr. Tom, and Ms. Jodie,

Thank you for such a wonderful experience through your Drive 4 Life program. Thanks to you I can confidently say that I am a good driver. I plan to take all I have learned with me for the rest of my life.
